At the X World Congress of the Quechua Language

Our brother Alfredo Mires Ortiz was invited to give a keynote address at the X World Congress of the Quechua Language, an event held in November 2020. There he shared valuable ideas about the nuances and distortions of our history and our vision of the world.

“What we call Andean Cosmoviviality is a reality and a construction –based on the irreducible inheritance of our communities, but it is at the same time a dynamic deconstruction of the frameworks that hold us back and the frameworks that disorient us. It is then about knowing our matrices and dismantling the distorted reality to rediscover our values and our paths.”

He pointed out that it is essential to know and value our matrices and sources as Andean communities and, therefore, to undo the distortions of dualities and tripartitions in the West that reduce Andean complementarity and harmonization. Our communities live organic life as a sacrament.

He recalled that dominance is established if we accept ourselves as inferior and opt for diminished behaviour. The strongest colonization is that of the mind.
